This is totally adorable. One of the it couples of the early 2000s is celebrating their fifteenth anniversary this year. That’s right, if you remember watching the live action Scooby Doo films in 2002 with the first remake, Scooby Doo, and its 2004 sequel, Scooby Doo 2: Monsters Unleashed, you just might have a soft spot for the romance between Fred and Daphne. This makes sense because the actors who played Fred and Daphne, Freddie Prinze, Jr. and Sarah Michelle Gellar, respectively, had a real life love between each other.
The couple has now been married for fifteen years and Gellar, the former star of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, utilized Instagram to show off fifteen different photos of the couple, with each one being taken during each year of their marriage. It was the cutest tribute! She captioned her photos humorously, by writing, “My husband thinks I’m crazy, but I’m not the one who married me!”
It is always very heartwarming to see celebrity couples who not only stay together for extended periods of time, but also seem to have a genuine affection for one another. Recently, the beloved duo of Chris Pratt and Anna Faris split up, much to the dismay of their fans, but for every divorce like that, there are always phenomenal relationships to follow like Prinze and Gellar, for example, or even Dax Shepard and Kristen Bell. Celebrity marriages can certainly be tough and require a lot of work, but they can also be just so rewarding.
Before Scooby Doo, the pair met on the set of 1997’s I Know What You Did Last Summer, officially tying the knot five years later in 2002. Subsequently, the couple had two children, Charlotte and Rocky. Many happy returns to the couple celebrating their crystal anniversary!
